GSA (U.S. General Services Administration) sets Per Diem Rates by fiscal year. On this website you can find you current rate you should receive for your contract (in the continental U.S.).

Finding what your stipend rate should be!

On the GSA website search by city, state, or zip code for the current fiscal year. The next fiscal year rates are released October 1 so if you have a contract at the end of a year check both years to see which you should be receiving.

After choosing the city, state, or zip code you will be transferred to another page with the sections Daily Lodging Rates and Meals & Incidentals. After clicking your primary destination in one of these categories (lets do Daily Lodging Rates first), you will be given a dollar amount per month. This dollar amount is your DAILY stipend. To find what your WEEKLY stipend should be times this by 5, as it is set to working 5 - 8hr days. Even if you work 4 = 10hr shifts this should still be the number you get when you work 40hrs a week. For those working 3-12hr shifts you will be receiving less of a stipend and that should be calculated according.

With one section done, complete the next section (Meals & Incidentals). Complete the same math for using the M&IE Total to find what you should get WEEKLY. With both the Daily Lodging Rates and Meals & Incidentals add the two together to see if it matches what your recruiter gave you. Are they giving you the stipend you deserve. If not ask them to MAX OUT YOUR STIPEND!!! Good luck!
